Join Pinnacles National Park in celebrating the 99th birthday of the National Park Service!

On August 25, 2015 the National Park Service turns 99! Pinnacles National Park invites the public to celebrate the weekend of August 21, 22, and 23. A variety of special programs and activities will be available for visitors of all ages to enjoy. These will include:

  • a brand new Junior Ranger Cave Scientist Book
  • art activities
  • evening amphitheater programs
  • ranger-led hikes.

This birthday brings the National Park Service one year closer to its 100 year anniversary in 2016! Participate in events and explore a National Park that is full of natural, historic, and cultural beauty. Appreciate the past and discover ways to protect Pinnacles National Park for future generations! In addition, the National Park Service is offering FREE admission to ALL National Parks on Founder's Day - Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Learn how you can help condors survive. Participate in trash cleanup to help make a difference.
11:00 am - 12:00 pm Centennial Jr. Ranger Cave Scientist Guided Hike
Meet at Bear Gulch Nature Center at 10:45
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
Make reservations by calling the East Visitor Center (831)389-4485. Hike through the Bear Gulch Cave and receive brand new Jr. Ranger Cave Scientist books to become the first Pinnacles Jr. Ranger Cave Scientists! Each person needs their own flashlight. Difficulty: Moderate
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Bear Gulch Cave Walk
Meet at Bear Gulch Nature Center at 12:15
EXTREME HEAT MAY CANCEL OR ALTER HIKE
Join a ranger on a natural history hike to the entrance of the Bear Gulch Cave. Each person needs their own flashlight. Difficulty: Moderate
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Pinnacles National Park History Hike
Meet at East Visitor Center at 1:45
EXTREME HEAT MAY CANCEL OR ALTER HIKE
Join a ranger to hike to the historic Bacon homestead and learn all about the history of Pinnacles National Park. Difficulty: Easy
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Condor Evening Program

Join a ranger to learn all about the endangered California condor.

12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Ranger at the Reservoir Reservoir Talk to a ranger stationed at the Reservoir.
